Did anyone have H1N1 during pregnancy and deliver a healthy baby?

I had H1N1 in the first trimester (with no relal symptoms besides a sligh cough I am 2 weeks from delivering and all of a sudden very nervous about the side effects. Please help me calm down!

Yes, I had H1N1 in the first trimester – I even used antivirals – and I had my baby 3 weeks ago. He’s perfectly healthy – even had 10/10 on his APGAR. H1N1 is no different or more dangerous than any other flu, and it doesn’t affect your baby at all.

Congrats on your little one!

How can we find out if "flu symptoms" are due to a virus or bacteria?

I need to design an experiment to determine if the flu symptoms in a population are due to a virus or bacteria. The procedure should not include overly complex tasks. The simpler the experiment, the better. All suggesions are appreciated.

Not sure how to design an experiment about it, but the first thing you’d need to know is if the "flu symptoms" are actually caused by the flu. If they are, well there is your answer. Influenza is exclusively caused by a virus.

However, a lot of people with colds complain of similar symptoms. Most people you can tell the difference depending on if there are sinus complaints.
Runny nose? Cold.
Fever? Flu.
Exhaustion? Well, could go either way really.

Only in outbreak cases do they actually do any testing for the virus, so you wouldn’t have much luck there.

Good luck though. I’d love to hear about your results.

-My nose is stuffy
-I have a headache
-I cant sleep
-I cant breathe
and worse of all
-I am coughing up flem (phlegm) sorry about smelling? It is thick and white and sometimes pinkish-red.

anyway does this sound serious? I cant breathe and am taking all of my puffers; should I go to the duty doctor? what should i do? what are remedies to help me breathe?

you need to go to the doctor. especially with the swine flu making its way around the world, better safe than sorry!

What are the most dangerous symptoms of H1N1?

Do the symptoms lead to larger problems. For instance: If there is sinus drainage, does the drainage cause the virus to invade the lungs and/or stomach? How are H1N1 symptoms treated?

respiratory distress is the most dangerous symptom, treated with tamiflu , anti histamines and antipyretics.

Swine-flu??????????????????????

Hello,

I just need to know who will take the swine-flu swab tests? I know anybody with symptoms can take it but who in particular would take it? (This is for my coursework) Please help and thank you very much-apperciated.

Never heard of it. But sure, i’d go for it. I might even test with a false-positive, because I had H1N1.
Might not too, i’m not sure what the mechanics are for the swab tests.
